The Breath, and Length, and Depth, and Height of the Love ofGod
Ephesians 3:14-19 (King James Version)
14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
We will never be able to grasp the depth of God’s love by trying to comprehend it with the carnal human intellect. As a result, those who seek to understand God on the basis of humanity fail terribly in their endeavour. It is therefore imperative that we understand first of all that God is spirit. In order to understand the language and/or behavioural pattern of a kind one has to become like that kind. So we have to become like God in order to understand Him. We have to become Spirit.
The human being can only translate to the spiritual world through the act of death to attain an understanding of God. At the point of death the physical body is cast back into the ground from whence it came and the spirit is the only being that can live beyond the borders of the grave. It is at this point where the spirit of the believer becomes one with God.
God has also made provision for the believer to enter into this dimension by faith through the death of His son, whereby we become born again. To be born again means to be born into. One also has to note that in order to enter into by birth you have to walk out of by death. This is the mystery of the born again experience whereby the believer is taken out of his natural decent by the awesome transforming spirit of God and born into Christ.
1 Peter 1:23 (New American Standard Bible
23for you have been (A)born again (B)not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring (C)word of God.
When we became born again we were born into Christ out of the corruptible seed of our forefathers. We read in 2 Corinthians 5:17 If any man be in Christ he is a new creation. The word new creation in this sentence simply mean “it is a creature that has never been seen before” . therefore according to God when you received him you became totally new. You have no past. Paul writes to the Galatians church in chapter 1:20, “it is no longer I, but Christ living within me. Any born again believer is a new creation that is being created in Christ. The life you now live you live by the spirit for God is spirit and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Colossians 3:3 For you have(D)died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Through the born again experience you as a Christian are now being translated into the Christ life. It is a fact that many have received this higher life but they still live a lower degree of Christianity. Many through ignorance (a lack of the knowledge and understanding of the word) have no insight into the higher calling.
It is at this level of a deeper understanding of the word that the Christian can live a supernatural life naturally. This is the intersection in the spirit realm where the will of man become one with the will of God. It is therefore a thousand times impossible to try to understand or explain God in a carnal view. We cannot make a comparison between our love relationship with God and our love relationship with another human being. God Loves us with an everlasting love and there is nothing in this world that we can do that will separate us from his love or make him being disappointed in us.
The love of God is not a human affection. It is an unconditional supernatural affection that has all the knowledge of your past present and future failures and still remains in love with you as though you are the only person on the face of the earth.
