Bloodline and family curses are a reality if we are unsaved. It is also possible that a born again believer can still experience the effects of bloodline curses in his life because of ignorance. We were all born into sin by virtue of our natural birth. Through this natural birth we are connected to our biological parenthood with Adam as our ancient forefather and we are therefore heirs of their bloodline.1Peter 1:18 Says “we received and empty way of life handed down from our fore fathers. Indeed if some of us should go down our family tree all we will find is witches, drunkards, slaves and the list is endless. Adam himself was a cursed man and whoever still hails from him are shareholders of those curses.

I feel the need to mention this to you although it is of no profit to me. I studied demonology and bloodline curses ten years ago. I had stags of textbooks on all sorts of topics concerning this subject. I have read most books about bloodline curses, demons and the testimonies of those that was once sold-out Satanist who are now born again believers. I was doing deliverance sessions as well until God opened my eyes to the finished work of the cross and the inheritance that we Christians have by the death of Jesus Christ.

 

Let us look at a few scriptures that will give us a contextual understanding of this subject:

First of all let’s have a look at the scripture that some use to gratify their Deliverance ministry.

Exodus 20:5 ……I will punish the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation…

And this is where they stop, now let’s read on

…to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but show mercy to a thousand generations of those who love me.

I am sure there was at least one family member before you who loved God and for that he says I will show mercy into a thousand generations.

Our next verse:

    Jeremiah 31:29  In those days they shall no longer say: "'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.'

Jer 31:30  But everyone shall die for his own sin. Each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.

 

Halleluah everyone will pay for his own sin. Whatever your forefathers committed have no effect on your life anymore. This was a prophecy that God will do away with the Law in Exodus 20 that said he will punish the children for their fathers sin. You may also refer to Ezekiel 18:2-5 for further study.

 

What about Christians that still believe they are walking under bloodline curses?

 

Hosea 4:6   My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..

I you do not have the knowledge of your inheritance you will live like a slave.

It is impossible for a born again believer to be subject to bloodline curses.

 

Look at the following verses:

 

2Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

 

John 1: 12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

 

1Pe 1:18  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

1Pe 1:19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1Pe 1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

 

Gal 3:13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Gal 3:14  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

 

It is imperative to understand that when a sinner receives the Lord he becomes born again. Meaning that you are born into a new family and you have a new father which is God and brothers and sisters of the same faith.

The born again experience is so much more than the forgiveness of sins. You are born into a family and your needs and desires becomes your heavenly fathers concern. You are no longer connected to the invisible umbilical cord that connected you to your natural parenthood and their curses. They are still your family but your spiritual inheritance is in Christ. He redeemed you from that empty way of life.

 

Meaning whatever sickness or weakness that ruled in your family will not have dominion over you unless you accept it in total ignorance (lack of knowledge).

You might be the last one left in your family, waiting to die of cancer. If you realise that is not your inheritance you will not get cancer. You have to use the power on your tongue. Don’t except defeat by default.

If all your family members never had successful marriages and your marriage looks like it is at a breaking point or you fear getting married because you do not have any faith that you will have a happy marriage due to the curse on your family. You have the power in Christ Jesus by your new birth to stop that curse from working havoc in your life.

Life and death is in the power of your tongue. Don’t just except defeat and mediocrity. Create your world with the seed of your words. Every seed demands a harvest. What are you speaking and excepting in your life? Walk in faith, and remember: Faith is not a position, but an Action.

 

Let us make the following declarations:

I am a new creation

I am born out of my natural decent into Christ

I renounce every bloodline curse in my life

No curse or bad habits shall have dominion over me

Whatever sickness or weakness that worked havoc in my family shall not have any effect in my life.

I am blessed and not cursed

It is for freedom that Christ has set me free

I am free
